Church at the Mission (CATM) Staff

Rev. Matthew Parker is the Lead Pastor/Director of Church at the Mission (CATM) and has served with Yonge Street Mission since 1985, first at our Evergreen Centre for Youth branch and then with the church in its various expressions. Matthew is a graduate of the Humber College and York University music programs and has a Master’s degree from Wycliffe College, University of Toronto. He is passionate about worship, evangelism and about equipping the people of God for the mission of God – the enfolding of humanity into the love of God in Christ. He is ordained with the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada. Matthew is married to Barbara, a teacher and skilled vocalist and actor, and they have two wonderful children, their daughter Elia and their son Jared, a Toronto-based musician and singer/songwriter.

Pastor Lee Schablitzke is the newest member of the pastoral team of Church at the Mission serving as Assistant Pastor. Lee comes to us with years of experience in diverse Christian ministries ranging from serving as Executive Director of a Christian Camp in the Prairies, to serving at The National House of Prayer in Ottawa, to serving as a cell group leader and prayer team leader. Lee has a background in engineering and plant management, and as a small business owner (The Shepherd’s Guide). A member of the congregation of Church at the Mission for two years before his appointment as Assistant Pastor, Lee is very happily married to his wife, Helen, and together they are the proud parents of three children and proud grandparents of six grandchildren.

Rev. Jan Rothenburger is Church at the Mission’s Community Outreach Pastor. Jan has served as a pastor at Yonge Street Mission since 1996 at CATM as well as at the mission’s Evergreen Centre, where she focuses on ministry to street-involved women and youth. Jan serves as chaplain at Toronto-area women’s prisons and is a prolific writer. Jan is a graduate of Tyndale Bible College, and is ordained with the Evangelical Christian Church in Canada.

Administrative Staff:

Melody Hung divides her time between serving as Administrator both at Church at the Mission and for the Yonge Street Mission Staff Care Department under Rev. Bill Ryan. Melody has served with grace and skill at Yonge Street Mission since 2004.
