Nursery Volunteers
Someone who has great respect for babies and toddlers and who is trustworthy, energetic, fun loving, mature, responsible and able to commit to Mondays or Wednesdays 1pm-4pm then this role may be for you. In our respite nursery we get babies that are often only days old up to toddler aged children so if you are keen to express an interest in this great opportunity please Apply Online HERE
Proofreader
A person who has editing skills and experience is sought to help proof read a publication for us. This would be a short term project for a few hours or until the editing is complete. Hours would be flexible. Please Apply Online HERE
Career Mentors
We are looking for mature (25+ years old), professional, committed people (male applicants especially needed at this time) to mentor a youth who is involved with Evergeen – our centre for street-involved youth – in the area of career development and exploration, goal setting, and practical/life skills. One-on-one mentors encourage, challenge and support their matched youth’s growth and maturity through their career journey. Qualifications we seek for this important role: excellent listeners, good role models, people who are wise, encouraging, trustworthy, flexible, and possess: perseverance, initiative and good problem solving skills. Mentors are required to commit a minimum of four hours a month to this role and maintain weekly contact with their matched youth to develop a supportive and encouraging relationship throughout the relationship. Mentors need to be open to people of all walks of life and orientation. We ask all of our mentors to commit a minimum of six months to this role. Full training and ongoing support is offered. Attention Health Care Professionals!
If you are seeking a rewarding volunteer experience and an opportunity to use your skills in the community, consider joining Evergreen Health Centre’s team of committed health care volunteers working with street-involved youth aged 16-24 years. Health care professionals registered in good standing with their Ontario regulatory body and available to commit to at least one afternoon each month are needed.
We have specific requirements for:
- Chiropractors (Thursday afternoons)
- Dentists (any afternoon)
- Foot Care Nurses (Tuesday afternoons)
- A Physiotherapist (Monday or Tuesday afternoons)
