Do you have strong academic skills and enjoy aiding adults in learning? Are you patient and willing to help adults learn in a variety of subjects?
The Yonge Street Mission is currently looking for adults to tutor adults in course work (grade 3 through to high school level).
The Bridges program supports adults on their pathway to change. Education is one of the barriers that many of our adults face on their journey to meeting their goals.
YSM seeks volunteers who are comfortable working with adults with life challenges such as mental health concerns, addictions, and functioning at various literacy levels. Adult tutors will work individually with adults, supporting them as they develop their course work. This is taking place in a drop-in setting and the volunteers will potentially be working with different adults each week.
We ask for a commitment of one shift per week on Tuesdays orThursdaysbetween 7:00pm and 8:00pm. Tutoring will be held at our community centre at Parliament and Gerrard St East.
We seek individuals able to commit to six months to a year of volunteering.
If interested please fill-in and submit the form below. One of our Volunteer Resources Coordinators will get back to you as soon as possible.
