DO YOU HAVE STRONG COMPUTER SKILLS? DO YOU ENJOY TEACHING INDIVIDUALS COMPUTER SKILLS/ PROGRAMS?
The TD Securities Computer Literacy Centre provides computer education to students in ways that are fun and interactive. Our Computer Teachers work directly with the students and teaching assistants to help teach children computer skills/programs. Our Computer Teachers ensure that students in the program are challenged and supported while developing their computer skills and full potential.
We’re seeking computer savvy volunteers who:
Have a strong background using Mac computers and Garage Band, or a similar music creation software OR
Have a love for animation and editing, and are familiar with Apple editing software OR
Have experience or love teaching kids ages 5-8 basic computer literacy skills
Volunteers must also love working with kids and have a knack for creativity. And, they must work well on their own, and also possess experience as a facilitator, teacher or tutor. Is this you?
Volunteers must be 19 years or older.
Help create new courses
Assist with creating a weekly course outline and overall course objectives
Teach a group of students of a variety of ages (class size will be up to 16 students)
Teach the course once per week, for 12 weeks
POSITION DURATION/ HOURS:
DAY/TIME: One Week Day, Monday – Friday, between 3:30pm-7:00pm
DAY/TIME FOR YOUNG COMPUTER LITERACY: Saturday mornings, 9:30am-12:15pm
COMMITMENT: One full term (January to May) with the option to continue in the Fall
LOCATION: Parliament and Gerrard St East
We seek individuals able to make a minimum six month commitment.
