Workshop/Course Facilitator

Do you have a passion for teaching groups of adults?

YSM Bridges program is seeking new workshop and course facilitators to run programming for adults experiencing chronic poverty.

Examples of the courses the Bridges program offers*:

●        Self-Esteem

●        Discover and Meet Your Life Goals

●        Anger Management

●        Boundaries

●        Emotional Wellness

●        Leadership Development

●        Assertiveness Training

●        Managing Depression and Anxiety

●        Financial Literacy

●        Interpersonal Skills

●        Collaboration and Communication

●        Healthy Lifestyles

●        Understanding Habits and Addictions

 

Examples of Possible One time workshops*:

●        Motivation

●        Benefits of exercise

●        Healthy eating on a limited budget

●        Social media etiquette

*We are open to ideas on other possible courses/workshops (workshops tend to be health related)

A successful candidate will be/have:

  • – Over the age of 18
  • – Experience teaching or facilitation material in one of the above topics (or a topic of similar value)
  • – Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • – Demonstrated commitment to the principles of cultural competency, social justice, anti-oppression, equity and inclusion
  • – Deep interest and strong ability to work with marginalized persons from a client-centred, empowering, and strengths-based approach

The commitment would be for 2 to 3 course cycles which are held in 6 week sessions throughout the year.

Courses are roughly 1.5 hours in length and are held on Tuesday (4:00-5:30pm & 6:45-8:15pm), Wednesday (2:00-3:30pm) and Thursdays (2:00-3:30pm, 4:00-530pm). The Workshops are Wednesdays 4:00-5:30pm.

You would select one of the times that works best for you. Preparation time is in addition to course time and would be done off-site.
