The vision of the Bridges program is to support adults towards a better life. Bridges offers holistic care, courses, and community for adults aged 18-60, to improve emotional, physical, spiritual and economic well-being.

ROLE SUMMARY & COMMITMENT:

• The purpose of this position is to guide one of our Bridges community member through the tax filing process – from the initial document preparation, up until the meeting with the accountant.

• The right person will be able to work within a team environment, and be able to sensitively treat our community member with dignity, remain patient and friendly within professional boundaries, and maintain confidentiality at all times. 

• This volunteer will also work in partnership with our Bridges staff to support our community member volunteer.
• The volunteer in this role WILL NOT BE FILING/COMPLETING TAXES but instead providing moral support and assistance to our community member as they work to compile and organize thier tax papers for our YSM Tax Accountant volunteer to complete. 

•  A sincere interest in social justice work and supporting marginalized and or vulnerable individuals.

• Position Term/Duration: To be determined, depending on the progress of work with community member. Volunteer and YSM Supervisor will negotiate volunteer location (virtual/in-person) and additional details of shift.
