Angie Peters’ story
Friends and neighbours helped lift a family out of poverty
Poverty ended for Angie’s family in one generation because of the intervention of ordinary people who cared. Today, Angie leads Yonge Street Mission as our President & CEO, empowering others to help break the cycle of poverty too. Read more >
John Fenton’s story
75 years of faithful giving
John started giving to YSM as an 11-year old, and continued doing so for over 75 years! At the age of 82, John walked 10 km and raised over $16,000 for the community members YSM serves. John’s example is a powerful reminder that long-term commitment, even in small amounts, creates lasting change for many. Hear from John >
Leaside High School
Students raise nearly $4,000 for YSM
During their 2025 Charity Week, Leaside’s Student Council brought the whole school together and raised nearly $4,000 to help vulnerable young people through YSM. Their support is helping the youth we serve to access healthy meals, health and mental health care, and the support to build pathways out of poverty.
