About Yonge Street Mission
For over 130 years, Yonge Street Mission has been rooted in Toronto — walking alongside individuals, families, and communities experiencing long-term poverty. As a faith-based, registered charity, YSM is more than a service provider. We are neighbours, advocates, and partners in lasting change.
Our approach is holistic and relational. From emergency support to job training, from children’s programs to community development, YSM addresses the whole person — not just immediate needs, but the deeper conditions that keep people trapped in poverty.
We believe transformation is possible. Every program we run, every relationship we build, is grounded in the conviction that Toronto can be a city where people, not poverty, thrive.
