Right now, 1 in 10 Torontonians rely on food banks. But your caring support offers hope!
The food you help YSM provide is meeting not only physical needs but also the emotional need for connection. During the holidays, it can be even more meaningful to an isolated neighbour to be invited to enjoy a hearty meal.
“Coming together at Thanksgiving and at Christmas reminds me that a warm meal and a caring community can open the door to hope and stability,” says André Kutyan (pictured above), who has donated YSM’s last three Bridges’ Thanksgiving community dinners, and helped support Bridges’ Christmas dinners. We are
so grateful to André, Harvey Kalles Real Estate Ltd. and The Good Son Restaurant for donating and volunteering to serve 300 Thanksgiving meals in October.
Thank you also to Daily Bread Food Bank and The Rotary Club of Toronto and its Charitable Foundation for donating $40,000 this year to help YSM provide fresh food for our Food Bank.
Whether you gave one meal or many, you extended hope to a hungry neighbour. Thank you for helping us reach our goal of providing 9,000 meals this holiday season!
