From a lemonade stand to a golf tournament, there is no limit to what type of event you can stage to help end chronic poverty in Toronto in just one generation. Please join YSM, to help us accomplish this important goal!

Thank you for your interest in organizing an event in support of YSM! We are pleased to offer a variety of tools available in our Third Party Event Tool Kit to help you get started. Once you have determined the details of your event, please fill out our Event Proposal Form, which can be submitted online.
After we receive your event information, our Community Engagement and Fundraising Specialist will review your event information and let you know if it is a fit for YSM. Once your event is accepted, you will have access to many of our valuable tools to help you plan your event.
When tax receipts are requested, YSM will issue official charitable tax receipts in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines, for any gifts for which complete donor information – name, full mailing address including postal code, donation amount and donation type – is provided electronically to YSM, and within 30 days of the event.
YSM will share with you information on how you can approach businesses for sponsorship. Once your event has been approved, we will provide you with this information, upon request.
Once your event and any marketing / promotion materials are reviewed and approved, we’ll provide you with YSM’s logo and our Brand Guidelines which stipulate how to use it properly.
YSM must be able to review and provide final approval of all event materials using our logo, or which mention our programs before printing and / or distribution.

IMPORTANT: YSM’s logo cannot be used without written permission.
YSM is able to promote events on a limited basis via our social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter.
YSM is unable to contact media on behalf of your event. You can contact local media, like Snap’d, and request your event be included in free online event listings, via Eventbrite, as one example.
While YSM is unable to cover any of your event expenses, we can assist you in developing a budget to help you manage your event expenses and anticipate revenues.
YSM can share limited information on venues we have worked with, however it will be your responsibility as the event organizer to consult with, select and book a venue.
If you need ideas, consider using EventSource.ca to search for Toronto area venues that match your needs and available budget.
Involvement of YSM staff / volunteers may be extended, at our discretion, based on availability, location and the nature of the event. Conversely, YSM – with significant notice – may be able to arrange for a community member to speak at your event, if applicable, and when asked to do so.
YSM cannot distribute event information or promotional materials to our existing donors or subscribers. We anticipate event organizers will rely on their personal and professional networks, and those of their contacts, to support their event.
All third party event proceeds will be used to impact the lives of YSM community members, to move them from surviving to thriving.
